Trade exhibitions in China provide the opportunity to find new goods, new solutions for business and its growth, the opportunity to meet new suppliers in China. The exhibitions take place in different Chinese cities: Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Wenzhou…. The topics of the exhibitions are mainly defined by the industries operating in a particular province of China. For example, the exhibitions in Dongguan mainly focus on shoes, furniture, and textiles. The exhibitions in Shenzhen – on electronics and LED lighting products. The exhibitions in Guangzhou deal with various topics: beauty and health products, equipment, textiles, car parts, building materials, plumbing and much more. The largest exhibition in Asia – the Canton Fair – also takes place in Guangzhou. It is a complex international export and import exhibition that attracts hundreds of thousands of businessmen from all over the world. The Canton Fair is the most important trade event for manufacturers, businessmen and interpreters in China.
There are two options how I work at the exhibitions in Guangzhou and all over China: either as a Chinese-Russian and Chinese-English interpreter or as a business agent at the exhibitions in China. Everything is clear with the first option. The second option involves my visiting the exhibition in China while you stay in your office or at home. I run the clients’ errands. I collect the necessary information at the exhibition: manufacturers’ catalogs, price lists if possible, product samples. I ask questions, make photos and send the collected materials to my clients by mail. This type of work should be interesting for those who do not have time for long-term business trips to China or who just don’t want to spend money on the trip. Working as the interpreter in China, I ask the right questions to the manufacturers at the exhibition. You can count on me in this regard.
